Why are postpartum
doulas important?
Postpartum Doulas are often overlooked care providers; and the importance of one is huge. The role of a PPD is to help the mother through her recovery journey. Most countries around the world prioritize the care of mothers during the postpartum period. Care ranging from cooking for the mother, preparing special healing soups and broths, allowing her to have proper extended rest, cleaning for her, having family members stay temporarily with her to give full 24 hours help, the list goes on. In America postpartum work is still "new" and not viewed as a priority, which is why I'm so passionate to change that!
